As part of its commitment to deliver premium orthopedic healthcare in Ghana and beyond, AlphaESS has worked with exclusive partner SunPower Innovations to help the Foundation of Complex Orthopedic Spine (FOCOS) commissioned a large off-grid solar project to reduce its power bill by 60% hence the decrease in health care cost and increase the chances for patients.
The 700kwh Hybrid Solar System with 1LMWH Battery Storage has been touted by experts as the largest in Africa for a hospital.
The project, which is the first of its kind in the nation, estimated at over $1.5 million Representing the Deputy Minister for Energy, Mr. Wisdom Togobo, Director for Renewable Energy, lauded the efforts of all the donors/sponsors for this gesture.

I've visited solar projects all sizes around the world and definitely the work you have done here is world-class and that also gives me the strength and confidence that we can all work together to bring more solar and battery projects to this country. We have signed an exclusive partnership not only to bring more products to the market but also we began to bring the Chinese finance package to the market so I'm pretty optimistic about operations and future"
AlphaESS will also continue to implement the mission of "Making clean energy beneficial to the greatest extent to everyone in the world."
About the project
Internal diagram of container energy storage system
During the day, the electricity generated by the photovoltaic panels power the medical equipment and the rest of the hospital and the surplus power is stored in the energy storage systems. When there is PV at night, the energy storage system automatically switches to continuously supply power to the loads and the entire energy storage system guarantees an uninterruptible 24/7 power supply.
AlphaESS's remote monitoring and maintenance platform, the AlphaCloud platform can help customers monitor the system's operating status in real time through web pages or mobile APPs, remotely set various functions, perform remote software upgrades for inverters, EMS, BMS, etc. and do debugging work.
