South Korea is a country of huge energy demand with 60-70% of electricity comes from fossil energy and 30% comes from nuclear energy. In 2017, the national governors announced that they would reduce their dependence on coal and oil. They proposed a renewable energy plan for 2030, which plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy from 7% to 20% in 2030, with solar energy accounting for the most. As a result, South Korea has introduced relevant renewable energy quota system (RPS) and green government (RECs) programs to promote the development of new energy, mainly covering areas including industrial and commercial projects, photovoltaic / wind power.
Since 2012, AlphaESS has been exploring the international energy storage market and has been deeply involved in leading markets for energy storage such as Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom and has accumulated many project experiences on the user side. With strategic collaboration and resource sharing from Taeyang Enertec, AlphaESS will extend its reach to South Korea. By utilizing the local electricity market system and pricing mechanism and applying the AlphaESS industrial and commercial energy storage systems, AlphaESS can help to reduce costs and increase efficiency. By helping enterprises to cut peaks and fill valleys, electricity can be stored at off peak time and be used during high demand hours, effectively improving the economic benefits of businesses.
In addition to load shifting, there are other potential profit applications in other emerging application scenarios: demand response, peak load and frequency regulation, demand charge management, virtual power plants (VPP), power quality regulation and improvement, smart micro-grids and other value-adding services. Wait. AlphaESS had extensive project experiences on the above scenarios.
